Travellers Info

Travel insurance

We strongly recommend that you and all members of your travelling party take out travel insurance to cover the full duration of your travel arrangements, prior to paying a deposit for your booking. Travel insurance is strongly recommended by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Smart Traveller

It’s encouraged that you subscribe to the Australian Government’s travel advice updates service via the “Smart Traveller” website. This will enable you to receive up to the minute travel advisories regarding health, major events, and security as well as other important information regarding your holiday destination, prior to, and during your holiday, either via email, or SMS.

Immigration and Customs requirements

The Celebration Travel Company does not provide a visa issuing service. Please check here for visa requirements pertinent to your nationality on your passport and the destinations you are travelling to. It is your responsibility to check immigration requirements for entry into each country or administrative region you are travelling to, and at the end of your holiday, prior to returning to Australia, it is important to be aware of Australian Government Customs regulations.

Health

We recommend that you consult with your local doctor, travel medical service or specialist vaccination clinic before commencing your travel. General health advice for overseas destinations is also available from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade by calling 1300 555 135, or visit their website.

Exchange rates & changing money

The Reserve Bank of Australia provides details on the value of 1 Australian Dollar to all foreign currencies on their website. These exchange rates should be used as a general guide only as they may differ depending where and when you are exchanging money.

It is NOT recommended that you change money with supposed authorised foreign currency exchange dealers or on the street at any destination.

The use of ATMs to source local currency cash whilst overseas generally utilises an accurate exchange rate, though you should exercise at very least the same amount of, if not more, security of your card, PIN, and a review of the ATM and its surrounds prior to making your transaction.

Local Customs, weather, major events

To get the most out of your holiday, we recommend you visit the website of the National Tourist Authority for your destination. Here you will find the most accurate information regarding local customs allowing you to best engage with the locals. You should also check for any major events occurring before, during, or after your planned time of travel in case it impacts on your plans, or in fact adds another dimension to your holiday.
